Swim
Comments: Pretty horrible swim in general. Mostly due to navigation. Felt like i was constantly adjusting direction and probably just looking up too much. Got a little anxious at one point and breast stroked it to chill out. What would you do differently?: Everything Transition 1
Comments: T1 is included with the swim time. Wasn't too good. Bike
Comments: Most of the race went well. A few spots where i got stuck and had to break going into a sharp corner. Once where i was in too high of a gear going down hill then lost momentum on the up hill that followed. Overall pretty decent tho. What would you do differently?: Just a couple things. Transition 2

Comments: I was just trying to take it easy. Did not eat the right thing for lunch and had some heart burn. On top of that, i drank too much water during the day and on the way to the race. Was overhydrated, but still had a dry mouth. Took some water at the aid station, but just swished it around and spit it out (good call). What would you do differently?: I was already pretty tired going into this race and planned to take it easy. Hopefully i'll be more rested next time. Right now just focusing on getting rested for my OLY in two weeks. Post race
Warm down: Just grabbed a root beer (still having stomach issues) packed up my stuff and drove home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of recovery. Too much water. Wrong food for lunch. Event comments: I almost didn't go because i was tired, but i wanted to get an OWS in before my OLY. I'm not sure if this made me more or less confident that i could do the OLY swim. It would be good to get at least one more longer swim in before the race. Last updated: 2012-04-10 12:00 AM
