Pre-race routine:

nothing special, had some cheerioes and water and some gatorade.
Event warmup:

stretched my hamstrings more than usual, rode my bike for the first time since last november on Saturday so they were alittle stiff. But did my usual stretches and light warm up walk
Run
  • 42m 27s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 06m 50s  min/mile
Comments:

It was a solid performance considering it my fist 10k this year. I misjudged my ability to catch the pack, I started slower in the first mile and the pack took a 46 second lead on me, and I could never reel them in.
What would you do differently?:

I would drink more fluids and keep pace with the lead pack rather than trying to hunt them down towards the latter part of the run
Post race
Warm down:

Stretch and go home

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My slow start in the first mile, thats really what effected my performance.

Event comments:

Good race.

Performance:
Course: Course was a relaively flat 3.1 out and back. On the wasy back there is about an 8% incline which I didnt realize and it hurt my time a little. My thought was to cruise the first 3 and push the last three and get a negative split and beat my nemesis as well.
