Pre-race routine:

Same as usual. Got registered and set up in transition.
Event warmup:

jumped in the water and swam an easy 4-500 or so to loosen up the shoulders.

My focus was to not blow myself up during this swim, so I went out with the rest of the people around me. I stuck very close to the first buoy. After about 200m, a guy ran both the guy on my right and I out of bounds and I had to drop back a person to get around them. I basically sat on that guys feet until about 100yds to go and hammered it. Came out of the water fresh and ready to bike. Definitely could have gone harder. Still having a hard time breathing during race swims.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe go around the guy I was drafting a little earlier to get a few seconds.

T1 went pretty quick for me. My swim cap was stuck on my giant head....nothing unusual.

I came out of T1 in pretty good position. Got passed by one guy on the small uphill out of T1. Overtook him in about 100yds passed the hill. Played it safe on the steep downhill. Got out on the course and tried to hold 250 watts for the race. Passed a couple people and then got passed by a couple. Was not too far behind the lead guys. At the turn around you come back downhill. I was really able to hammer it, but ran out of gears and just had to sit there putting in zero watts. The last big uphill I only let up a little to keep my breathing down to go into the run.
What would you do differently?:

Just hammer the entire time. My time wasn't any better than 2 yrs ago. Not impressed.

It was hard for me to tell if there was anyone in front of my in my age group. My dad watching yelled out I was 11th off the bike so it was almost a definite that there was a guy out there. I just decided to push it as hard as I could go. Stomach cramping tried to start up, so I backed off just slightly until it went away. I was able to run pretty hard with little discomfort except in my lungs. With about 1.25 miles left, a guy passed me in my AG. We were running up a loose rock/steep little hill on the trail and I couldn't go after him. I decided that when I got to the top of the hill, I would push to stay with him and try to outkick him at the end. I rounded the top of the hill and he also picked it up. I watched him slowly run away from me. I wanted to push to keep up, but didn't have the lungs. Even my legs wanted to go. I was getting sloppy on the downhills. Nobody else passed me at that point. Finished well.
What would you do differently?:

Not sure. Still need to get more run volume in.

Post race food is the best of any race I've been to. I love this venue...beautiful and the race organizers are top notch.
