Run
Comments: Good run for me, I'd say my average pace was 8:24, and the course is hilly. Transition 1
Comments: Slipped shoes off, put shoes on jogged with bike to mount and took off. Bike
Comments: Bike is my strongest event and am loving the tri bike I built. State road 4 sucks, I live here and will ride climbs but hate descents on the bumpy pavement. Played hopscotch with the 1st place female. What would you do differently?: I need to work on pacing for longer events. It's real hard for me not to go real hard on the bike. Guess some painful bricks should work this mindset out of me! Transition 2
Comments: Didn't seem this long? Run
Comments: Ran strong for second run. Post race
Warm down: had water and a huge roast beef and cheese taco! What limited your ability to perform faster: I feel I have a great base and am enjoying the entire event now instead of dreading some of the runs. I am still losing weight and this will only help as time goes on. Event comments: The traffic set up was goofy but worked for me. I don't know if others had trouble with cars or not. I placed second out of 3 in AG with the 1st place AG going 3rd overall and the 3rd place AG being injured. So got lucky but it's a tough course early in the year. I was 195.5 lbs race morning and really and AG'er this time instead of Clyde. Look forward to a good tri-season with the focus now on learning to open water swim. Last updated: 2012-04-15 12:00 AM

This is a hometown race, transition is 1.5 miles from my house. Got up and had 1.75 cups of Yams with maple syrup, and a ON Whey protein shake, cup of coffee. Rode bike to transition and set up. Sipped some water, walked around.
Jogged a little
