swim a few strokes
Swim
  • 14m 47s
  • 875 yards
  • 01m 41s / 100 yards
Comments:

felt like aslug in the water. I couldn't get any speed at all. Couldnt' catch a draft and didn't know where I was going. Really dissapointing swim
What would you do differently?:

go to the swim talk and try to have higher expectations for myself
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

the Transition times were added into the bike and run I think? not sure where the times are but I was ok. ran in sandals from the beach and recovered pretty quickly but got stuck in my suit
Bike
  • 1h 20m 2s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 18.63 mile/hr
Comments:

went out with intentions of really taking it easy so as not to blow out my legs. Was really not expecting to feel so good. I kept telling myself to take it easy but I didn't have to that much. ran out of gear and had to get out of the saddle twice on the hills. I need to check my gearing.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

i'm bummed the transitions weren't timed because I'm getting good at that shoe thingy.
Run
  • 45m 14s
  • 4.97 miles
  • 09m 06s  min/mile
Comments:

started out with no feet for 2 miles or so which was wierd. I tripped a couple times until I got my rythm. started out sloshy and crampy for a mile or so also. felt great but I was afraid to push it becauise I haven't done a lot of fast runs longer than 3 miles. I was afraid of runnign out of steam, which I did but not until the trail at the end. I really thought I would puke going over the last hill.
What would you do differently?:

train for the distance! drink less at the end of the bike.
Post race
Warm down:

don't fall over or throw up.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of trust in myself.
lack of training for distance.

Event comments:

great race! I could have used some water on the run, which there wasn't. Not one. gatorade, yes but not a drop of water. I don't like the no chip thing at all. I don't trust the splits and I want to know my transition times. but I loved the race and will be back next year.
