Run
Comments: This was a really tough run for me. I ran through a couple of cramps but at mile 23, had sever cramps in right leg (calf, ham, quad). Stopped, stretched, then walked 23 and part of 24, then ran the last 1.7. What would you do differently?: Not sure. Maybe train more. Post race
Warm down: Lots of stretching. Set my alarm for twice during the night to stretch. Feel better than expected the day after. Event comments: Great race - very very well organized I had a great time running with everyone and it definitely helped me a ton. Tracy – thanks for organizing and keeping me focused on the run J – awesome run, I can’t believe you just started running, I can’t decide if I’m inspired or deflated - I'm going with inspired. Lee Anne (New Orleans spelling) – I know how bad it must have sucked with stomach issues and how bad you must have wanted to quit, so I think your finish might be the most impressive. Thea – You seriously never looked in pain or in anything but control. You may have a little Kenyan in your blood somewhere. Your run was awesome My mind thinks in terms of short bullets and jumps all over the place, but these are some of my thoughts from yesterday: Big Fat lady holding the “Visualize my body and Run” sign I can’t believe how nice all of the people out there cheering are Love you long time Holy Shit, turning onto Boylston Street is unbelievable Throwing up after the race (sorry J) The Pizza guy on our bus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wapNcP_7PPo It was hot Think about how much it will suck to have to tell people you didn’t finish (one of my coworkers) Run like you have a thumb in your bum (Facebook post) I’m keeping that race number…fake/faded or not I will never do this again I forgot one thing about the marathon...the guy that I was running with in mind was Steve Gleason...he just posted on his face book page "just got my feeding tube..life isn't easy, but its awesome" http://www.teamgleason.org/ Also, my Aunt Ann - she was the best Last updated: 2012-04-17 12:00 AM
