Run
Comments: Wasn't sure of my target pace, and there was no clock until the end, so I wouldn't have really known if I was on pace anyway. Pushed pretty hard but felt good. What would you do differently?: Probably went out a little fast and hurt my bike time. Should've thought about the possibility of changing to a du with the weather and been more mentally prepared. Transition 1
Comments: Hadn't practiced a run-bike transition, so slightly out-of-sorts, but didn't have any problems. A little slow getting things together. What would you do differently?: Practice. Tri bike shoes would be quicker. Bike
Comments: Haven't done much riding the past few years, so I expected this to be my weak link. Bought my bike last month and have only ridden it twice. The hills felt hard. Felt like lots of people passed me, especially on the last big hill. What would you do differently?: More riding, especially on hills. Need to get a bike computer so I can better manage my energy. Transition 2
Comments: Saved a bit of time since I was already wearing my number from the first run. Run
Comments: Had a minor calf cramp and side stitch after getting off the bike, but they went away pretty quickly. Felt pretty good otherwise. What would you do differently?: Try to stretch a bit and get more water towards the end of the bike. Probably could've pushed harder, too - think I had a bit of energy left after the finish. Post race
Warm down: Banana and a few sips of that awful sports drink they were handing out. What limited your ability to perform faster: Needed more sleep the night before. If I do another Saturday race, I'll take Friday off from work. Event comments: Nice race, though a bit on the pricey side. Last updated: 2012-04-18 12:00 AM

Stood around waiting to see if the fog would lift. It didn't. Race delayed 45 mins and changed to a duathlon. Had 1 snack bar on the drive and another while waiting.
Minimal. Had the wetsuit half on until they made the announcement about the swim cancellation. I think they gave us 5-10 mins notice of the duathlon start. Just a couple of quick jogs up and down the concrete boardwalk after changing for the run, but that was plenty.
