Nice swim. Nothing special, except that Sarah Reinertson was getting out of the water when my wave was about to start -- inspirational to see someone overcome so much.

Nasty Grade was oversold. Try climing the hills in Napa as a regular diet. Met a guy named Darren and rode the last 10 miles with him.

Comments:

Ran within myself all but the last mile of the race. Paced about 200 yards behind Darren until mile 7, at which point he faded or I picked it up. Hard to know exactly what happened. After the 3 miles of canted, hilly, treacherous single track dirt through the forest things started getting a little blurry.
What would you do differently?:

Run a little faster starting at mile 8.
