Comments: First lady out of the water. Felt great in the water and my stroke felt strong and smooth. Transition 1
Comments: I was a little out of breath when I got to my transition area and felt like I was loosing my balance so I opt'd to sit down to finish taking off my wetsuit and to put on my socks and bike shoes. Tested an aero helmet that belonged to a friend so had some difficulty getting it adjusted completely at first. What would you do differently?: Need to think about riding without socks to save on a little time. Loved the helmet, just need to make sure I have it adjusted correctly. Bike
Comments: I was really worried about this ride with the hill that was on the course even though I had climbed it last year in the same race since I have been having trouble climbing the past couple of weeks. Held the pace back and tried to keep the HR under control leading up to the hill. Climbed it....speed down to 6.1 mph but made it and recovered pretty well once at the top. Transition 2
Comments: Felt really fast getting into my running shoes and clipped on my race number as I ran out of transition. What would you do differently?: Ran up to my rack and was on the wrong side, had to rack the bike backward. OPPS!! Run
Post race
Warm down: Took in gatoraide, water and a small sandwich. Walked to cool down. What limited your ability to perform faster: The heat was probably the biggest factor. Event comments: Race had a late start due to some fog on the river, delay for safety. Would have liked to have seen something other than water like gatoraide or coke on the course. This was an incredibly fun race and the venue was awesome. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Last updated: 2012-04-30 12:00 AM

Didn't sleep very well the night before and had a hard time finding something to eat that I would normally eat the night before a race. Had my normal PBnJ sandwich, banana and 2 cups of coffee.
Took a short dip in the water to allow water into the wet suit.
