Pre-race routine:

Drove to the race with Jenna, got a good spot in the lower lot. Had a banana and a bottle of Vega Pre-Workout Energizer.
Event warmup:

Splashed around in the water a bit, this lake is warm and we did the pre-swim the day before.

I was in the first wave this year. Didn't want to get caught up with everyone so I shot out ahead of everyone and took the first 200-300 yds really fast. Didn't sight until I felt I was clear and realized I was also swimming far left. Had to cut back over which took some time and energy out of me. I could have gone sub 10 here.
What would you do differently?:

Sighted earlier, stayed by the buoys/rope.

After realizing that drafting was okay, I jumped in line with a few people on tri bikes but only for a bit. Overall really happy with my time and avg. speed.

I ran right past my spot in transition. Wasted about 45 seconds. I literally thought "oh my god, someone took all my stuff." Took someone yelling "wrong rack!" for me to realize it.

Super happy about the run. Had a lot to give which means the bike was great. Loved keeping ahead of most everyone and passing those who took the run out of T2 too hard later in the run. Very happy.
Post race
Warm down:

Crossed the finish line, grabbed my recovery drink and a banana and headed back to transition to cheer on my friends. Loved the time, the race, and the day. Overall, great race for me.

Event comments:

Loved this race. 2nd year doing it. This time got a bunch of friends to do it as well. Great race for me but even more rewarding to watch them all cross the finish.
