Run
Comments: Was a tough run int he heat, tried to hold back on the front half to make sure I had enough in the tank for the hills, left it all out there on Hospital hill between miles 11 and 12, hit the wall close to the top and had to pace back, would not stop running though, mind wouldn't let me.....got through that hill and opened up only to catch the next hill.....dialed back on this, the last mile run in was tough in the heat, managed to get through the bonk feeling and finish pretty much in line with expected timing. What would you do differently?: Train more effectively!!!! Post race
Warm down: walked back 2 miles on course to meet my wife and her friends and ran in with them in a slow pace :-) What limited your ability to perform faster: endurance training lacking!! too much time on shorter runs and speed! Event comments: I really enjoy the Marine Corps Historic half, it's a challenge if you want it to be but absolutely a first timers joy. It's a great atmosphere, well supported and well staffed.
