Comments: I wanted to see how my trainings been working and hopefully set a new PB. I followed some race advice from the McMillan Facebook page and went out fairly aggressively before settling down. I could see by my splits that I was ahead of my target pace but I felt very relaxed so didn't worry about it! At the turnaround I pushed a bit harder and then let go with 2k to go. To be honest I felt I could have gone faster but I didn't want to implode! I wore my HRM this time and my final 1k was at 185 bpm so I must have been pushing it at that point. Alice and her school netball team were manning the penultimate water station and I got soaked as I ran past them! What would you do differently?: Not much, I really enjoyed this race. I felt strong and in control the whole way and set a new PB plus managed to run my age in minutes for a 10km! Post race
