Swim
Comments: Ocean was not to bad for waves or current. I did not get stuck behind any slower swimmers. I could not find anyone near by to draft off of so I was solo the whole way. What would you do differently?: Not much. Swim more before the event for better endurance Transition 1
Comments: T1 went really well for me. I was 20th overall out of 766 so I executed well. I passed a bunch of people just walking or slow jogging out with their bikes. What would you do differently?: I could get a little faster on the mounting of the bike. It was good but not perfectly fluid. Bike
Comments: Bike went as well as my current fitness could support. No major issues with pace or traffic. What would you do differently?: Bike more leading up to event to improve fitness level. Transition 2
Comments: Again passed a lot of racers that were walking their bikes into transition. I went without socks for the run and did not have any issues. I had applied bodyglide prior to the start and it paid off. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run faster if I can. Run
Comments: I was quite happy with the run. I was out due to injury for 9 weeks and have only been running about 5 weeks. I expected a bit slower 5K but I was able to push a little at the turn around and then kick it in gear with 1K left. I had a sprint finish and passed a guy right before the line. What would you do differently?: Get the mind in gear and suffer a bit more. I might have been able to kick it a bit harder at the turn around but since I hadn't been running much I waited. Overall I am pleased with the split. Post race
Warm down: Grab some water and ice, kept movign and stretched the knees and hip flexors. What limited your ability to perform faster: Only 5 weeks back running after injury definitely slowed the run. Travel has limited the amount of time on the bike and swim. Event comments: The after race drinks and activities are typical of what I have seen at most races in Singapore, aka not much going on. The great part of this event was that they had the results ready right away. They even sent a text message with your finish time. The results had all the splits (including T1 and T2 - which get left off alot). Overall a well run event. I will try to do this again next year. Last updated: 2012-05-06 12:00 AM

Got to transition early since the racks were first come first served. Set up and then went to body marking. After that I double checked my transition setup and then went through the entrance and exit for each part of the race.
Some water entries and some easy swimming in the ocean to get the arms warmed up. I had a Gu Roctane about 20 minutes before my wave started.
