Run
Comments: Overall, this was a good run for me. Given that I've only been run focused for the last six weeks, not to mention the fact that we had a new baby six weeks ago, I was very happy with my time. It's 13 seconds slower than my PR from 2010. What would you do differently?: If I had known that there wouldn't be mile markers anywhere on the course, I would have brought my Garmin. I just used a simple watch because I didn't want to watch pace but I did wish that I knew how far we had to go. Post race
Warm down: Walked around for a few minutes and did a few stretches. Jogged a mile back to the car since the buses hadn't started running yet. What limited your ability to perform faster: I was out of breath and pushing hard, especially at the end. I did have an annoying side stitch for about half a mile. I didn't have anything left when I crossed the finish line - I was happy with the pacing. Event comments: The 5K doesn't get as much attention as the half marathon or marathon but it's still a fun race. The only negative was the lack of mile markers on the 5K course. The half and full both had great signage. Last updated: 2012-05-06 12:00 AM

Coffee and a granola bar 2:15 before the race.
Ran between a quarter and half mile thirty minutes before the race. I included some pickups to faster than race pace.
