Pre-race routine:

Very early start to drive to Neenah. (Up at 4 AM) Gatorade and power bar in the car on the way.

Stretching and very short run to get my legs ready.

This is a very short course so I went hard. A small group of four or so runners in my wave bolted from the start and got away from me. I hung with one other person not too far behind them.

Was very happy with this run.

I hit this flat course hard and it paid off. The wet road conditions and rain kept me from cornering as well as I could have, but overall this was a good ride.

I was passed by a few riders but I passed a ton of people from prior waves.

I was hoping to run a negative split, which I missed by a bit, but overall I was happy with this run. I went hard, passed a bunch of people and did not get passed.

Hung with my kid and friends. Waited for my training partner to finish.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Wet roads.

Event comments:

I liked this race as an early season starter.
