Swim
Comments: I was not pushing, but thought I was with the front group... obviously there was a group way in front of us :) Paces with two other gals for a while then on the way in just hip drafted on one other girl. Never pushed it too much, but worked just enough. What would you do differently?: Go out a little harder and try to draft off the lead group a little better. Transition 1
Comments: NEED to start practicing the flying mount... My transition didn't feel fast, but it was the 2nd fastest in my AG, so not bad. I felt a little sluggish/ clumsy, just because I haven't done this is SO long! What would you do differently?: practice more. flying mount. Bike
Comments: It didn't feel hard, but I sure felt it at the top and later in the ride. Probably went a little too hard with Chris, Jim, and the kids watching, cheering. But it was fun :) Then I really cruised and passed quite a few on the way down. Felt tired/ heavy on the rollers and on Foothills back. Maybe I blew too hard on old stage. What would you do differently?: Not much- maybe hold back on old stage so I could have a little more juice for the rollers/ finish. NOT drink as much. I was a little bloated/ overloaded going into the run. Transition 2
Comments: DAMN I wish I just could have been under a minute! But my shoes got a little stuck going on. Run
Comments: Yeah, this just flat out HURT after mile 2. I felt great on mile 1... Then ok on mile 2 but noticed my pace slipping... and then it just kept getting harder from there. After the turn around, I decided I just had to push it. So my HR was much higher on the return, but it HURT! What would you do differently?: train more :) Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: My limited run training especially in the last few weeks and my total lack of swimming. Event comments: MISSED the old Peak with Barry and Jodee!!! This was overall the most emotional race of my life. I somehow was just able to do exactly what I thought. and I even let myself feel it a little at the finish line. THANK YOU to everyone for the support and amazing, overwhelming LOVE at every turn and along every step of this journey back into triathlon. Last updated: 2012-05-11 12:00 AM

Woke up early with a phone call... But was just about awake anyway. HAd plenty of time to eat, dress, pack up, and get to the race. Parked around 5:15 and there was no line into transition. Got a good spot. Set up, said my hellos to everyone, then left transition. Was a little disjointed by seeing so many people and just re-acquainting myself with the race scene, transition... etc...
Was at least smart enough to bring an extra pair of running shoes so I could leave my race flats in transition and then WU running. Did about 15 minutes with some drills, dynamic stretches, grapevines, etc...
Then put the wetsuit on and swam about 10-15 before heading into the pen for my wave.
