Swim
Comments: Terrible swim - a full 45 seconds slower than Jetton. Just could not get comfortable. Huge wave and the first 300 meters were not good. I could never get my rhythm. What would you do differently?: Warm up - because of the parking snafu I ran out of time to warm up for the swim which I know affected my comfort in the water Transition 1
Comments: Long run from the swim to transition area and my transition area was as far from the bike start as you could get so I ran a long time in my bike cleats What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: I really liked my bike - no one passed and I made up alot of time from the poor swim. I knew I was behind and went on a tear. I passed two cars on the route. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: I had a very long way on my rack and actually passed the run start. My rack spot did me no favors in this race.. Run
Comments: I was proud of the run even though it was slow; I had turned my ankle on the same course a week ago and I felt like I ran as hard as I could. Had another MC pass me with like .5 miles to go and I tried to speed up but I had nothing to get him with it. I ran almost a minute faster than last month. Post race
Warm down: Got some water, chatted with friends and eat a banana. Waited for results and then headed home What limited your ability to perform faster: Two things: 1) Had a stressful week with being out of town for work - clearly not enough sleep; I did not have the proper rest. My TSB was great but without rest it does not matter 2) Swimming OWS is a new skill - this was my third time ever in an OWS swim - much to learn here. UPDATE: After beating myself up all day, I went a long ride on Sunday and realized my race was better than I thought - I had PRed my ride (MPH) and my 5k run time - yeah my swim was not the best but the other two components were strong. Event comments: Liked the race - huge field and tough to compete - its in my hometown (lucky to have so many tris so close). Last updated: 2012-05-12 12:00 AM

Up at 4:25; with oatmeal for breakfast. Out the door by 5:05 and at the site at 5:15 - then the the traffic hit which was unexpected took forever to park. This really ate into my time for setup and warmup
I ran a mile or so but never got a chance to swim which really hurt me later.
