Swim
  • 15m 57s
  • 820 yards
  • 01m 56s / 100 yards
Comments:

Almost collided with a swimmer hanging onto a kayak on the return leg. Impossible to see the first buoy until I was very close to it. Managed to swim around all backmarkers from other waves, by sighting them early on.
Transition 1
  • 02m 26s
Comments:

Used wetsuit strippers again, but my watch caught on my sleeve and slowed me down a bit.
The bike rack was very crowded and I had trouble getting my bike out as it was locking horns with nearby bikes. Very annoying as other bike racks looked fine.
Bike
  • 42m 5s
  • 12.3 miles
  • 17.54 mile/hr
Comments:

Pushed hard on the bike today, as per my race plan. Always moved up one gear above "comfortable". 1 mph faster than my PR/PB. Overtook a lot of bikes, and only tribikes overtook me.
Transition 2
  • 01m 30s
Run
  • 31m 54s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10m 17s  min/mile
Comments:

Rubber legged for first mile (11 min/mile pace), so very slow. However, I got better after about 1.5 miles and it was easier. I still run like a slug though!
Post race
Event comments:

30-35 minute delay before swim as the bike course hadn't been cleared. Made sighting hard on the outward section of the swim, directly looking into the rising sun.
I had to ask the Bike In volunteer if this was the way, as he wasn't directing traffic.
