Pre-race routine:

Got to race site at 6AM and worked in my tri-club's booth for the triathlon which was held first. Also went down to watch Bob race...took pix and timed his race. Spent the rest of the morning at the club booth, socializing, trying to stay out of the sun, etc.
Event warmup:

Mile swim didn't start until 11:00, so we had been there for quite some time by then. Made sure to stay hydrated. Stretched and went down to the ocean to warm up in the water.

Comments:

Don't know placement since results haven't been posted yet. I was THRILLED at my time, though! I've never swum faster than that in my life! The water was absolutely perfect...clear, no current, no waves, no chop. It was like swimming in a lake. Couldn't ask for better conditions.

Warm down:

Walked around, showered, went to lunch with Bob and Richard and then returned in the afternoon and volunteered at the Firefighter's Combat Challenge that was being held at the same time.

What a terrific day!.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing. Very happy overall.

Had lots of friends there, including Mimir, Hermom, Herdaughter, and Hercaddy!!!(oops, that's herDADDY!).
