What limited your ability to perform faster:

2 low blood sugars, headwind, quad cramp that never fully materialized yet was always right there waiting to bite!

Event comments:

Thanks again to all of the volunteers. Especially to the route marshals who were just as lost as we were due to the fact that detour directions had not been given to them.

Performance: Good
Wind: Headwind with gusts
Course: Mostly country roads, paved bike trail and some urban streets. Course signage was lacking at times which caused confusion amongst riders. Some roads wre no better than smoothish gravel. Several train tracks that had to be crossed. The first of which took out 2 riders' tires. Roads through town were tricky to navigate with lots of cars parked on side of road - opening car doors, people pulling out, etc. Had to cross a busy 4 lane freeway which was no picnic. Unmarked detour sent a group of riders on a closed section of bike trail - sign at farthest end of detour barrier read: " Trail Closed Due To Bridge Failure" (!!!)
