Swim
Comments: glassy to start before the first wave, forgot how water likes to skip happily into my mouth when I breath during OWS, little trouble keeping straight line felt like I was struggling against my suit a bit until comfortable about 2/3 way thru What would you do differently?: buy a wetsuit to practice OWS more Transition 1
Comments: sat down to take off of heels, little confusion as to what to don when What would you do differently?: practice my transitions so it's muscle memory rather than having to think about it Bike
Comments: a good bike for me, came in under what I imagined really dislike beating a LOT of people out of the water then listening to everybody, their mom, AND grandmothers announcing their passing me What would you do differently?: get some bike specific training Transition 2
Comments: chatting with The Man as we were in T2 together, puff inhaler, had to pee, on to run What would you do differently?: again with the muscle memory rather than having to think about what needs to go where, though it was smoother than T1 Run
Comments: started okay, then breathing/panic attack troubles started and kept happening off & on throughout, almost stopped completely until AngelJeannette assisted me by "dragging" me out of my mental state and my physical stall What would you do differently?: stop the panicky stuff Post race
Warm down: walking around, chilly water, little ice bath for feet, yoga sretches. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of training plan and lack of training due to various legitimate reasons and then some plain ole' laziness Event comments: a good local race with 250 participants this year Last updated: 2012-05-16 12:00 AM
