Pre-race routine:

Up at 5. Advocare bar. 8 oz water. Coffee on way to race. Most of PB at 6:30. o2 at 7:30. Had to hurry a bit to put things together. I should have done ALL I possibly could the night before. (taping on gu in particular).
Event warmup:

absolutely nothing.
Swim
  • 40m 49s
  • 1500 meters
  • 02m 43s / 100 meters
Comments:

Overall not being able to breathe on the right hurt me. It would have been easier to see the small buoys if I could have gone to the right.
What would you do differently?:

Sighting din't work out well. B/c I didn't know exaclty where I was headed I tended to stop to see EXACTLY where when I should have just sighted with the swim.
Transition 1
  • 01m 44s
Comments:

Went fairly well here.
What would you do differently?:

Could have at a gu running from the water.
Bike
  • 1h 25m 11s
  • 25.6 miles
  • 18.03 mile/hr
Comments:

Most of rehydrate on way out. 1/2 of bottle of EFS on the way back. One GU at the turn. 1 GU w/ 1 mi to go.
What would you do differently?:

Would like to try to push harder but I don't know if my quads can take it. I'm afraid I may cramp.
Transition 2
  • 01m 26s
Comments:

Pretty solid
What would you do differently?:

Need to walk through transition as a dry run. I was confused on the run.
Run
  • 51m
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 13s  min/mile
Comments:

Could have pushed harder in the middle. Didn't calibrate my pod so reading was off. Quads felt like they would have cramped if I ran longer or pushed much more at the end.
What would you do differently?:

Drank more? seemed to lose speed when I stopped to drink. Hard pushing though.
Post race
Warm down:

nothing

What limited your ability to perform faster:

need more work on hills. I need to see if I can push hard on the bike and still run well. m/b readjust my heart rate max on the bike. 163 seems to be too low of a threhold.

Event comments:

Seemed to take a long time for Olympic awards/raffle. They started announcing they would do the awards in 10-15 minutes, but 1/2 hour later they still weren't started. My beanie was NOT in my race bag!
