Pre-race routine:

Arrived, set up transition, got chip. Ate a bagel.
Event warmup:

G1 Prime and 10 minute jog was all I had time for.

Wave start was carnage with people. I moved to outside quickly to get out of the way. Decent enough swim with no freak outs. Moments of speed on the way back, but mainly just tried to finish. Minimal current and waves. Still getting used to swimming in salt water.

Had fun. The roads were a little rough and the reflectors made passing difficult, but not bad. First time in a while that I pushed myself on the ride.

Train for speed on the bike.

What would you do differently?:

Having to put on socks slowed me down, but the difference during the run made up for it.

Felt great. Didn't feel like I left anything out on the run. Maintained same pace throughout and just one-by-one passed people. Really enjoyed this run (other than the course).

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Bad swim training.

Event comments:

Needed more volunteers at water tables during the run.
