Comments:

Large hill coming out of swim up to transition. Wetsuit always gets caught on timing chip. Felt very slow, especially having to put swim gear in bag.

I was the most intimidated by this bike course. Was a good ride, but was very ready for it to be over.

Legs felt surprisingly good coming off the bike. Was unsure how they would feel after bike. Goal was sub 9:30's.

Warm down:

Little to nauseated to eat or drink. Found friends, cleaned up transition and changed clothes.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Fear of the unknown

Event comments:

Fantastic trainsition sites, volunteers, finish location. The people of Kings Mountain are truely gracious to have this race there. Everyone was very welcoming and encouraging.

Course: Hilly. Through 2 national parks. Roads very good, although one stretch (3-4 miles bounced the shit outta me). Around mile 21 winds picked up, a little too gusty for me to have only rode on new wheels once. Just nervous.
