Pre-race routine:

Ate a granola bar at 5:30. Had coffee. I need to learn about race day nutrition and fueling... (See run time)..
Event warmup:

Transition set-up. Located all of the entry and exit points. Took a look at swim buoy's . 15 mins prior to start, swam easy for 5 minutes.
Swim
  • 18m 1s
  • 880 yards
  • 02m 03s / 100 yards
Comments:

I had a great swim for me. Never broke from my rhythm, and even mixed it up in the middle of the pack. One advantage to being a clyde I guess.. Saw my family on the exit and gave them a full frontal "Hulk Hogan" type muscle flex. It was funny..
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. More training will = faster swim times in the future
Transition 1
  • 03m 21s
Comments:

Took my time in T1, actually sat down to put on wet socks. My bike was about as far away from the bike out as you could get. I could definately go faster in T1
What would you do differently?:

Move faster!!
Bike
  • 47m 39s
  • 15 miles
  • 18.89 mile/hr
Comments:

I had a good bike. i was thinking about the run, and a little slower than normal in the turns because of the slick road. Spent more time in the aero bars (Clip on). Could have pushed harder.
What would you do differently?:

Push a little harder if it's not raining
Transition 2
  • 02m 32s
Comments:

Left T2 and heard Foggy yell "Take your helmet off!" i wonder how far I would have went before I noticed that! Yikes, first tri of the season, I was nervous...
What would you do differently?:

Take the helmet off...
Run
  • 43m 24s
  • 3 miles
  • 14m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

Ran walked. Walked way more than i should have. Need to fuel better and learn to run
What would you do differently?:

More running!!
Post race
Warm down:

Was very happy to finish and see my family, and Foggy's family, and a few of my friends that showed up to watch. It was AWESOME!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My lack of running and not fueling properly

Event comments:

Fantastic race, I can't wait for next year! They should do this race three times a year!
