Swim
Comments: Good swim, although the start was rougher than I thought it would be, with lots of jockeying for position, even though I went out pretty hard. Backed off a bit to try and get out of that, and settled into a nice easy/strong pace. Backed off a bit on the last leg, as I didn't want to come out of the water out of breath. Still came in first in my division, though, so I'm very happy. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: Struggled with my socks, as usual. Bike
Comments: I was a couple minutes slower than at OOB, which could be because of the wet road, or could be because of some additional climbing on this course (OOB was pretty flat), or it could be I was just a bit slower. I stayed in the drops for most of the race, though, which felt good. Definitely faster than last year, but I feel like there is still some speed to gain on the bike if I work at it this off-season. What would you do differently?: Be faster. Transition 2
Comments: Good, quick transition. No complaints. Actually lost a few seconds miss-racking my bike, though, so it could have been even faster. Run
Comments: Good run for me. First time under 1 hour, and got my pace down to 9:18/mile from 9:40/mile 3 weeks ago on a flatter course. Felt both strong and that I was pushing it. What would you do differently?: Be faster. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, stretched, ate, and rested under a shade tree. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of speed. Event comments: Awesome race -- Lobsterman does it up right. Beautiful setting, great course, good food, etc. Love this race. Last updated: 2012-05-22 12:00 AM

Slept in a bit (stayed in town), ate breakfast at the hotel (waffle with PB and syrup), showered (!), and drove to the venue with the family. Set up transition and took things easy.
No run or bike, but I swam for 8 minutes or so.
