Swim
Comments: My swimming was still slow but greatly improved over last year. I drafted off of people in front of me for the first half of the swim (yes I was actually able to keep up). I actually started passing swimmers on the way back. I definitely swam extra yards due to poor sighting and stopped several times to correct course. What would you do differently?: Practice sighting more and get into a rhythm earlier. Transition 1
Comments: I was a bit disorganized in transition and was not conscious of the time. What would you do differently?: More organization. Practice my transitions Bike
Comments: Much better on the hills this year compared to last. Still have a lot of work to do. Passed a number of people on the bike leg. Didn't trash my legs for the run like I did last year. What would you do differently?: More miles on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: The bike transition was very crowded and tight. It took me extra time to rack my bike Run
Comments: I probably could have pushed the run a bit more. The hills in this run took a lot out of me but my heart rate recovered well on the downhills and levels. Post race
Warm down: Did a lot of walking as my car was about a mile away and had some carbs post race What limited your ability to perform faster: Sighting in the swim and overall leg strength on the bike Event comments: I would definitely recommend this race. it's beginner friendly. It is however not an easy course. Last updated: 2012-05-22 12:00 AM

Warm up was a few strokes in the lake before the start.
