Comments:

Overall a very fun race despite the steep hills at the beginning. I have to admit my legs felt crushed after the first couple miles and it took me until mile 3 to get my heart rate back under control.

Managed negative splits throughout the race but that was pretty much a given after the steep climb at the start - one of these days I swear I will find a flat course!

Overall, I thought I did pretty good - I did manage to beat my 10K PB by over 2 minutes, but know I still have a long way to go to move out of the front of the back of the pack group! Still good progress being made though it seemed like everyone passed me at some point!
What would you do differently?:

For this race nothing much - take on more water during the run. Probably not get to the start almost an hour and half early!
Post race
Warm down:

Chatted with another runner for a few mins. Grabbed water, sandwich, and a bagel.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Hills...I say that every time it seems!

Event comments:

This was a fantastic small community type race. I think they had around 500 people between the 5K and 10K runs. The course was tough but the volunteers and organizers were super friendly and gave great support throughout the race. I understand they might be looking at doing a HM next year which I would seriously consider, if they cut out some of those early hills!!
