Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:30, got dressed, made oatmeal and coffee. finished packing car and was on the road by 5:00am. ate oatmeal and coffee in car. arrived at race location about 6:15. ate bananna at 6:16, and some water. checked in and racked by bike need end.
Event warmup:

last minute bathroom break prior to getting wetsuit on. 5 - 10 minute swim warm up to get loose and aclimated to water temp.

Comments:

Swim could not have gone much better. Took a lot of time with body glide on shoulders and neck, and pulling up wetsuit so not to feel tight in the chest and shoulders. Was worried about deep water start( Frist time), but think this is much better than running into the water with 50+ others. Was last to get into water so I did not have to tread water for long. Went out nice and easy hugging the bouy line. sighting was execelent, tried to follow group, and looked up very quickly and not very often. Clear goggles helped with lake water. Picked up the pace afer a couple hundred yards, countinued to bi-latteral breath. Wetsuit felt fast, no issues with fit. felt great getting out of water.
What would you do differently?:

not much, mayby push the pace a little. Best swim thus far.

Very hilly course. Felt good getting on bike. Course was a constant up and down for the entire 18 miles. was not greatly prepaired for this amount of climbing. overall, did ok, could have been better.
What would you do differently?:

Need to train more outdoors, work on climbing.

forgot to get running shoes tied correctly. needed to tie them once they were put on.

Legs were hurting from those many climbs on the bike. Overall was able to stay under 9 min mile, would have liked to get closer to an 8 min mile. overall, run was hard due to bike course.

water and sitting on bench, than slow walk around transition

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of bike training on hills.

Event comments:

This was a CGI event. Voulenteers were great. Especially gentleman at bike transition area, very loud and encouraging to everyone.
Post race food could have been much better. Bread, cookies, red pizza, and bannans, water. Very organized, and great MC making sure everyone had their name and hometown called out, good job.
