Swim
Comments: Worst swim ever. My goggles, which I had used many times previously, just wouldn't seal. Water in them the whole time, so just took them off. Couldn't ever catch my breath or get my HR down. Almost forgot my earplugs. It really couldn't have gone a lot worse... What would you do differently?: I need much more OWS practice, and better goggles. Transition 1
Comments: Ok transition, fairly long run from beach to transition area, but not bad. Bike
Comments: OK bike course, bumpy through the park, but not bad. What would you do differently?: More time on the bike. I've been training a lot, but obviously not enough. Transition 2
Comments: Almost a disaster. I wore my racing belt backwards on ride, then turned it around when I was ready to run, but the buttons flew off...So, I dumped my backpack out and safety pinned my number on. Definitely slowed me down and frustrated me. What would you do differently?: Need more time to rehearse transition, stop wearing belt during bike, get a better belt. Run
Comments: OK run, but I need to get much faster! What would you do differently?: other than train more, not much. Post race
Warm down: ate a banana and drank some HEED What limited your ability to perform faster: the swim! Event comments: Good race, good course, but they have to figure out how to manage traffic. I woke up at 4:45 and got to the plantation at 5:30 and still almost missed my wave start at 6:38, without warming up. Last updated: 2012-05-23 12:00 AM

All out of whack. Traffic and parking prevented me from going through everything.
The only warm-up I got was running back up to the Transition area to get my earplugs, which I almost forgot.
