Swim
Comments: I was super nervous but once I started swimming it was great! I was passing people and caught up to some people in the age group before me. What would you do differently?: I probably could have pushed a little harder. Hopefully next time I'll be faster. Transition 1
Comments: As this was my first race, I think I did fine. I'm sure it wasn't anything great! What would you do differently?: I could get tri shoes that would go on faster. Mine have an extra buckle. Bike
Comments: I had rode the course 3 times prior to race day and felt comfortable with it. I knew I could make it up the hills. I was trying to increase my average speed to 16 mph and I was very close so overall I think it went pretty well. There were lots of people on mountain bikes so I had to pass a lot. I heard others complain about car traffic but I did not have any problems. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: I had a not great dismount. I was so paranoid about not being able to unclip in time so I ended up dismounting fairly early. At least I didn't fall! What would you do differently?: Better dismount Run
Comments: Running is the hardest part for me. I knew I was going to walk a little. I did better than my training runs so I can't complain. What would you do differently?: Nothing that day. I will continue to work on the run. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, hugged my family, celebrated with my training buddy! What limited your ability to perform faster: Overall endurance and level of fitness Event comments: I had an awesome experience! I can't wait for my next race!! Last updated: 2012-05-29 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:00. I had my coffee and oatmeal with blueberries. I brought a Power bar with me because I was worried about being hungry but I was too excited/nervous to notice. My husband and kids came later to the race.
Dipped my feet in the water and stretched a little. I didn't really warm up.
