Swim
Comments: I was in the first wave which had a lot of competitors. The chop and whitewater from everyone was more than normal. The pace was also fast. Not sure what happened, but my heart rate shot up early in the swim to the point where I needed to grab the kayak in order to get it back down. Never happened to me before and no idea why it happened. I could have easily stopped, but once it was back down, I resumed the swim. Overall I was not a happy camper on the swim, but I was amazed when I saw the time and realized it was 1 minute faster than last year. What would you do differently?: Just would have like to have not had that situation with my heart rate increasing occur. With the fast pace, it would have been great to see what my time would have been. Transition 1
Comments: Good transition. Nothing special here as it was routine for T1 for me. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Felt good on the bike after the issue on the swim. I guess I was determined after that swim. What would you do differently?: Just to continue to improve on my speed in order to bring the time down. Transition 2
Comments: Quick T2 for me. Felt good off of the bike and not issue getting into my shoes. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Course was a little damp from the overnight rain. Made it where it was packed down and easier to run. The course is always a challenge with the rolling hills. What would you do differently?: Continue to work the hills. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Issue on the swim. Event comments: The volunteers at this event from Front Street United Methodist Church do a fantastic job. They are all so encouraging. The food after the event is great as well. Last updated: 2012-05-30 12:00 AM
