Swim
Comments: My goggles started leaking terribly as soon as I got started. I tried to ignore that but I had to stop twice to empty them. It was very disconcerting to see so many in my wave leaving me behind. Then I remembered there were "young" women (40+) in my wave. Once I got my goggles under control, I was able to swim pretty strong. I was thinking how nice the Schuylkill River was...until we turned to come back and started running into all of the debri from last night's storm. I missed all of the helpers getting out of the water. What would you do differently?: Use new goggles. These are from 2010. Transition 1
Comments: I Aquaphored my feet since I still have some sensitive blister spots from Eagleman two weeks ago. The transition area was a bit messy from the storm. I had to dodge mud puddles running out. What would you do differently?: Count the number of racks coming from the swim. I thought I ran past my spot but after running back, I realized that I didn't run far enough. Oh well. Bike
Comments: There were a lot of people on the road since I was in the 5th wave. I don't normally pass as many people as I did today. I was surprised at the number of mt. bikes in the race. Bob said he saw someone enter transition with one of those foldable bikes. Transition 2
Comments: I changed my wet socks. I know I shouldn't do that for a 3.1 mile race, but I don't like soggy socks. I also put more Aquaphor on my feet--thus the slow transition time. Run
Comments: I felt pretty good on the run. I kept telling myself, it's only 3.1 miles. I was running with one young girl and she announced that it was her first tri. I congratulated her and told her it was my 104th tri. Kind of makes me feel old. Post race
Warm down: As always, the best part was crossing the finish line. I grabbed my camera and was getting ready to take pictures when I noticed something bothering me in the back of my sports bra. I reached back and there were lots of little twigs and stuff in there. I couldn't believe how much fell out. Winnie's LeBus sponsored the food. They had yogurt, granola, blueberries, strawberries, bananas and bagels. Yum! Event comments: After the awards ceremony, Bob and I stopped off at the expo. After much persistence, I won a doorprize from the Toyota group--a Nathan hand-held water bottle. Sweet! Last updated: 2012-05-30 12:00 AM

I got up at 4:00 to leave the house at 4:45. (Bob got up at 2:50. No wonder he's tired!) I had trouble eating breakfast today. I had a very nervous stomach. I only ate about half of my oatmeal on the way to the race. We got a great parking spot near the top of Black Road. Registration was from 5:00-6:00. I was in no hurry once we got there.
I ate 3/4 of a power bar around 7:00 a.m.
None to speak of.
