Pre-race routine:

Just a cheap fun race to do so decided to do it last minute after coming down from Gulf Coast 70.3 last weekend. Left with rachel aound 6:30am. Ate waffle PBJ banana and half of ensure

1st mile was trying to hold back the fast start pace that everyone starts out doing. Turn around wasnt that bad but a kind of uncomfortable going uphill. Wanted to do under 7min miles so was happy with that.

went out really fast like 24-25mph for first 3 miles or so then turned and went to around 21-22. Another turn then around 19-21. Then headwind 17-20.

Tried to do fsst tranisition because came in with a pack of like 5. 1st one out. Only caught by 1 person. Was girl who took 3rd overall.

1st mile out was surprising not that bad. Timex GPS watch reads terrible and couldnt tell my pace but thought i was going a lot slower than i was. 1st mile 7:20 and I thought was 8+. Second mile was alright but i could really start to feel the burn. I dug deep the last 0.5mile because it was a gradual uphill and I tried not to drop pace. Lungs were burning pretty bad and was glad to finally cross the finishline.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

dialing racing down and getting ready to have my baby.

Event comments:

Best race to do because cheap. $15 with shirt and $10 without. Cost more in gas to drive there and back
