Pre-race routine:

Got up, drank Perpetuem, got dressed - nothing special.
Event warmup:

Warmup? I guess the warmup was walking against the flow AFTER the start trying to get to the PoPs. Was running a bit late this day. Came out and was still peeling clothes and stuffing my bag for the bag drop when I heard the announcer shout, "You've got 30 seconds to get across the start line before I close up and go to the finish." Ran through the start line, then stopped to finish getting situated. Oh, my brother was right there with me, and we weren't the last ones across either.

Comments:

Well, the start really set the tone for this entire day. C-a-s-u-a-l... Ran with my brother for the first 10 miles and the miles just rolled by. Ran and visited, visited and ran... We haven't trained together too much this year so had a lot of catching up to do.

When he walked a few steps at mile 10 for a little knee twinge, I ran ahead and since I was feeling good tried to run a little harder for the last 3 miles. In retrospect, maybe would have enjoyed those miles more had we stuck together.

This was definitely the most enjoyable half I've ever done - I had a blast out there. Saw several more Team Blaze people, finished strong, and felt great.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Water, walking, cheer the other finishers.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing - my goal was to enjoy the day, which I did.

Event comments:

Beautiful day, nice course, well organized event, and chicken skeweres and soup along with the fruit and bagels at teh end. What's not to like?
