Pre-race routine:

Get up extremely early to get shuttled all over in a bus!

Pretty good swim for me.
What would you do differently?:

Definitely could take a couple minutes off this pace. Maybe a better effort to draft off the speedsters coming by.

Not good transition but wetsuits had to go in bag etc. Long run on bad surface so i had shoes on.
Missed one pedal clip and whacked my shin, ouch

shoes on bike, put socks on for long asphalt run

I felt really good at start. Tried to go out climbing and stay near 8:30/40 pace with thoughts of 7:45 coming back. Didnt work as my legs turned to logs at mile 8/9 and i just couldnt get going.
Hung in there to keep the 8:40 pace and 8:55 last 2 miles. It was a struggle but i never walked!
What would you do differently?:

Easier at end of bike, harder at beginning of run.

Nothing-try to gather all the gear

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Just a lack of training for this run. Strategy and pace could have gained me some time but i dont thing too much....

Event comments:

I'll really have to think about it again. Great race, once you're racing.
Way too much shuttling around and disorganization between transition areas for me. Family and spectators seeing the swim is almost impossible unless they go at 5am too.
Very bad with lack of signs and we felt like we were searching for places all the time.

Course: Fast first half (23.7) with big down hill start then rolling good roads. Changed about half way to narrow rough roads and some steep little climbs from mile 40-56 TERRIFIC course layout. Need to lose the cones on narrow section and wish roads were smoother but really interesting and fun. I used both rings and ALL the gears on this ride. (Yes, 39/28 up a couple hills...)
