Swim
Comments: Did not do a great job of keeping eyes up and navigating around other swimmers. Transition 1
Comments: This was a transition of going from bike to swim in the reverse tri. Thought I transitioned pretty quick but see that I was next to last in my age group in this transition. What would you do differently?: Dismount bike and get back to the rack quicker. Bike
Comments: Pretty good ride and could have been even better had I not followed a number of other riders a few blocks past one of the turns, which was not well-marked and did not have any volunteers or police at the corner. This cost me about 2 minutes in the bike. Otherwise rode OK, passed a lot more people than passed me. What would you do differently?: Pre-ride the bike course, get to know the turns Transition 2
Comments: Pretty good transition from run to bike - under a minute and fastest in my age group. It helps in transition that I'm keeping my running shoes on and riding with cages instead of switching into biking shoes ... though I don't know if that costs me time on the bike. Run
Comments: Felt pretty good on run - this was the first event in this reverse tri. Much better than when I ran this course back in November and bonked. Kept a steady pace and could have pushed harder at the end. Not overjoyed with a 25:45 but not bad either. What would you do differently?: Stride out and kick more at the flat end of the course Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Going off the bike course. Not navigating aggressively around slower swimmers. Event comments: Bike course not well marked and led to several riders including me going past a turn and losing a few minutes getting turned around and back on course. No volunteers at corner.
