Pre-race routine:

Nothing special. Early morning breakfast. One hour car ride to the location.
Event warmup:

Stretching and a light jog. The Olympic distance went off before the sprint, so a swim wasn't very feasible.

I cut the bottom of my left foot as soon as I got in the water. I didnt' realize how bad it was until T1. I went out way too fast and the last third. I still need to work on pacing myself in the swim.
What would you do differently?:

Start slower, get into a comfortable routine and finish strong.

This took me much longer than usual. Mostly because I was trying to figure out how to stop the bleeding. I didn't plan to wear socks, but had them with me. So I put two socks on the bloody foot and none on the other. Worked OK - until the run.

Painful. My foot was throbbing the entire time. I was happy to finish withing 4 minutes of my goal.
