Swim
Comments: This was a good swim for me. sighting was good until I rounded the last turn buoy and had trouble seeing the finish arch (I had trouble seeing it last year also). I'm usually somewhere in the middle but I think I managed to get slightly ahead of the main pack today, thus avoiding some contact. What would you do differently?: Smooth out my stroke, it felt sloppy, but it's hard when you keep getting bumped. Transition 1
Comments: I didn't have a prime transition spot, but it was more than that. I'm just kind of putzy in T1. What would you do differently?: Be a little more organized. Bike
Comments: Wasn't sure what to expect. I spent some time this winter on the trainer, but very little outdoor biking this spring b/c of a run focus for spring marathon in GB (Complete disaster). Felt good but at times had to dial it back a bit b/c I have gotten carried away in the bike before and you know the rest. What would you do differently?: Not much, I thought I paced the bike well. Transition 2
Comments: Good T2. Run
Comments: Had slight calf cramps at the start but only for a few minutes( This is typical for me coming off the bike in a sprint distance race). I think the run course was a little longer than last year. Paced the run well and finished with a kick. Was a little naseous for a minute after I finished and I was surprised at that b/c it wasn't that hot. What would you do differently?: Could have pushed it more but was a little concerned I might blow up Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Less training than last year at this time Event comments: This is an easier bike and run course so for me it's a great way to ease into the season. Last updated: 2012-06-03 12:00 AM

My twelve year old daughter broke her arm in a soccer game in bad collision the day before the race, so after a long day/evening at Childrens Hospital the last thing on my mind was being able to race the next day.. They were able to set the bones back in place w/out surgery so we're hoping it will heal correctly. She had a pretty good night pain wise so I decided to go while my wife stayed home with her. When I got back home she had some friends over and was in good spirits, so hopefuly all will end well with that.
The line to sign in was long, so I didn't have time to ride my bike, but I did get in a little jog. Usually this early in the season I don't get in the water to loosen up but it was nice out so I did today.
