Swim
Comments: Swim was awesome in terms of overall satisfaction. The only thing i do different next time would be not pushing so hard first 400m. I got a bit tired and had to slow down in order to catch the breath and let my legs to rest a bit before the bike. What would you do differently?: Start a bit slowly, got too excited. Transition 1
Comments: Well, according to my girlfriend i kind of sucked in T1. I got there the third i got out 6 or 7. How the hell did it happen? What would you do differently?: I should practice jumping on the bike and zip in the shoes while i go.. Bike
Comments: Course was hilly. And that killer on the 3rd or so km screwed lots of people`s day, I am pretty sure and I was one of them. 1.3 km of climb is no joke after the swim but it would be boring without that hill. Overall I enjoyed the course, nice rollers, beautiful scenery. On my way back I was curious how fast I would descend from early mentioned hill but a car going 60 left me dragging behind with my arms on the brakes :( What would you do differently?: I did fine. I am in the middle of my training for IM Lou with a week`s average 250km so my legs were a bit tired. But the course is a great practice before Kentucky. Transition 2
Comments: I run in Vibram Five Fingers so it takes some extra 5-10 sec to get your fingers into the right part of the shoe What would you do differently?: as i said before i need to practise the jumping on and off the bike. Run
Comments: Well, run is my weakest part. Plus i was very worried due to my shin splints which i have been battling for the last 3 month. Actually it was the main reason why i switched to barefoot running (Vibram Five Fingers). I have not put a lot of mileage on the run yet due to adjusting to new shoes. Although, my run was surprisingly good. I felt like I could run once again without worrying about injuries and the pain after. I maintained good pace, I saw a guy in front of me and told myself "You got to catch him" so I did. I was running faster and faster with every kilometre. I was able to catch the guy on the 6th km and maintain a good distance with my follower. But once again I got toooo excited about catching the guy I was following for the whole run and I made my move way to early. On the KM 6.8 I turned back and saw that guy just flying behind me so I pushed, 5 sec later he flew by... and that was another dude who came from nowhere... and I have spent my finishing sprint for nothing :( that is when the contender of my run saw my weakness and regained his lead just 100 meters to the finish line. Well done, man. I learned a lesson. What would you do differently?: Honestly, nothing. Run was awesome, competition fair and fierce. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: I just need a bit more of hill rides Event comments: Great race I would recommend this race as the perfect start of the season. Last updated: 2012-06-03 12:00 AM

This was my first race in the series of the events for summer 2012. Kind of warm up event, to see where I stand in the beginning of the summer.
So there was not much of routine, just a 40 minutes drive from Toronto to Milton, pumping wheels, registration, etc.
It was cloudy with the promise of rain. Also wind brought some discomfort while I was stretching. For my warm up I decided to swim around 700 m and once I got into the water I was surprised how warm it was, so last 20 minutes before the start I spent swimming and had no intentions going back ashore.
