Comments:

jumped in about 10th person in the water got right behind the two people in front of me and drafted as long as I could until I lost them about half way through. I stayed strong and had a great swim considering I haven't swam much at all this year I'll take it 18/193.
What would you do differently?:

nothing that was all I had
Transition 1
  • 01m 33s
Comments:

could not run barefoot without a lot of pain had to speed walk T1
What would you do differently?:

Bike
  • 48m 53s
  • 18 miles
  • 22.09 mile/hr
Comments:

the bike split included a 50-75 yard run with your bike out of transition and back into transition, this killed me I can not run barefoot right now, I lost at least :45 seconds here. I felt very strong on the bike today,I did not sweat bad breathing was controlled just in a nice zone. The course was good only about a 1.5 mile strech of semi-rough area and the 2 train tracks that you had to slow to around 10mph but the rest was smooth and fast
What would you do differently?:

nothing great bike for lack of training right now
Transition 2
  • 00m 54s
Comments:

had to walk again until I got my shoes on
What would you do differently?:

nothing fast as I could go with a bad foot
Run
  • 29m 11s
  • 4 miles
  • 07m 18s  min/mile
Comments:

I went into this race planning to walk since I have not run in 2 weeks do to foot pain. The 1st 1/2 mile was 9/10 on the pain scale and I just about stopped, but the guy in front of me started walking and he was in my age group, so there was no way I was giving up 1st place and decided to deal with it. As a popular song says what doesn't kill you makes you stronger I pushed on, I did not wear a watch and ran a fast as I could without making the foot hurt worst. I was suprised I averaged 7:17's it really felt like 7:40 or more pace, I just felt strong all day.
What would you do differently?:

nothing fix my foot, I gave away at least 1:30 on the run due to pain I believe I could have averaged at least 6:50 a mile today
