Swim
Comments: This was an ok swim for me. My biggest problem was that I didn't navigate very well between the two buoys. Got straight to the first one ok then took a semi-circular path to the second. Then made a good line from the second to the swim exit. What would you do differently?: Better sighting between the buoys. Transition 1
Comments: This was an improved T1 for me. Took about a minute off of my T1 time from my previous race. Slowed down by getting the wet grass clippings off of my feet before putting on my socks & shoes. Bike
Comments: My average speed over this course was about 1.5 mph faster than my last race which was a shorter course. Overall I was happy with my bike performance. Having to power through the entire course without any real breaks took a little more out of me than I expected and I paid for it in the run. Transition 2
Comments: A much improved T2 time over my last race. Mostly slowed down a little by trying to put running shoes on with wobbly legs from the bike. Run
Comments: This was a dismal run performance for me. I think the combination of being tired from the bike and running on the soft trails just wiped me out. Ended up walking more of it than I would have liked to. What would you do differently?: Have to work on my run and my bike to run transitions. Post race
Warm down: Nothing special, walked around the finish area for a little bit. Grabbed a banana and some water. Did some stretches when I got home (since I forgot to at the finish). What limited your ability to perform faster: Mostly my overweight self. Still working on that. This was my second tri and showed a lot of improvements over my first one. I clearly need to put some more focus on my runs. Will have to work on that before my next race in 2 months. Event comments: Very well organized and run. Lots of volunteers, lots of course markings. I will definitely do this race again. Last updated: 2012-06-05 12:00 AM

Left the house about 4:30am for the hour ling drive up to the site. Hate half a plain bagel along the way. Arrived a little after 5:30am, just as the site had opened. Parked, got chipped and numbered. Found my rack and setup my transition area.
Nothing special. About a 5 minute walk from the transition to the swim start. A little tough to walk over the gravel road on bare feet. Mostly walked along the side of the road in the grass and avoided the numerous ant hills.
