Swim
Comments: This lake was for the birds. Too small, lots of weeds, and it smelled like sulfur. At least they had outdoor showers running, so i ran under one after. What would you do differently?: Maybe do the duathlon. Transition 1
Comments: Tried leaving my shoes clipped in for the first time, without practicing. All the time i saved and then some was just moved to the bike as i was on the side of the road getting shoes on and chain back on. Grrr. What would you do differently?: Practice transitioning. If i was to start placing, this matters so much more than i pretended last year. Bike
Comments: Bike was mostly uneventful after the shoe mess. I passed a lot of people counting the duathletes out on the course. Almost yelled at a clump of ~6-7 riders on a flat (not even a climb). The roads were open an i did not want to go into oncoming traffic. Eventually just hugged the double yellow and charged on ups saying "left" and got past. If i was more familiar with the course i could have piccked up some time ath the end, but it was tiny fast rollers around curves and i slowed it down. What would you do differently?: Nothing really, pretty happy. Transition 2
Run
Post race
Warm down: Biked home pretty soon after. Eileen was making fathers day breakfast. Event comments: Nows when improving gets harder. I was only one away from a podium, but 2 minutes is an eternity to make up in a sprint. Keep on trucking... Last updated: 2012-06-06 12:00 AM

Road the 18 miles out 301 to the race. Those are some decent climbs to do before racing.
A few pushups plus the ride in.
