![]() Swim
Comments: Had issues early on in the swim with the guy to my left pushing me right, finally stopped and let him go pass me so that I could swim straight. According to the GPS on my watch, I swam pretty straight lines after. I swam far left to give myself open water. What would you do differently?: I need more time in the water to improve my times. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: This was my first race with wearing my 910XT for the swim, so transition was slowed by having to remove the watch before removing the wetsuit from my left arm. What would you do differently?: I can be faster, but there's a decent run up from the water so not much time to gain. ![]() Bike
Comments: My watch had the course being almost a mile short. I kept a good steady pace and passed a few, but was only passed by a couple of people. Stayed in aero as much as possible ![]() Transition 2
Comments: A nice quick T2 for me What would you do differently?: Nothing ![]() Run
Comments: This run sucks! There in next to no shade on the run and the temperature was already up to the low 90s. I started out fine, but my heart rate never stabilized so I started taking walk breaks to try and get my HR down. There are only 3 aid stations on the run, so I ran with a bottle - but my stomach told me to stop drinking after the first couple of miles. By mile 5 I dumped the contents of the bottle. What would you do differently?: Carry water in the bottle instead of Nuun, so I could use it to cool me off. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walked back out on the course to cheer for my wife and friends. What limited your ability to perform faster: The heat Event comments: They really need to have more aid stations out on the run when it's as hot as it was. Last updated: 2012-06-07 12:00 AM

Woke up early and ate some steel-cut oatmeal. Finishing load up the truck with mine and my wife's gear and then headed out around 6AM for the 45 minute drive to the race.
Walked around the transition area and talked with friends. Did a little swimming before my wave started.
