Pre-race routine:

Arrived on-time , parking was easy right inside Drew University parking lots. registration area well marked and well staffed (virtually no lines), about 5- porta potties , no lines either (because of staggered nature of rides)... Chatted with my ride mates and off we went.

Comments:

Overall the ride was was pretty fun, the weather was near perfect overcast and around 65 at the start. Traffic was pretty light once we got to the backroads, and this course had the BEST and MOST VISIBLE turn markings of any tour, there was never any doubt where to turn next.Rest stops were well stocked and supported.. Volunteers were great..

Course was a 50mile loop mostly through back roads and a few stretches of primary roads within the Madison through Basking ridge area. Very scenic with lots of rolling terrain, the first real climb (not too difficult) is up to the Jockey Hollow national park, from there its all rolling terrain again until you get to Liberty Corner and right after the far hills rest stop (mile 32) , there's a 1 mile + 5% climb, from there its more rolling back to Madison. Most of the rolls were good with little to know traffic , a few rods had pretty worn patches of roads with significant cracks and potholes, its kind of ironic to pass multi-million dollar homes with crumbling road surfaces just outside, that's NJ for you. Roads were open to traffic and very little to any police presence.
What would you do differently?:

Get some sleep, only went to bed around 4am then got up about 6:30a .. so a few more hours would have given me more energy.
Post race
Warm down:

ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET at Drew University cafeteria , need I say more .. .and a small EXPO at the Drew University , best post tour i've been to in a while, its nice to

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Was riding with two friends, one of them was having an off day and she was very slow, I fell back frequently to motivate and make sure she didn't get lost..

Event comments:

Vey well run
