Run
Comments: The race was pretty much what I expected. There was 19,000 runners which set a record for the Chase Series of races. It was really difficult to weave through the crowd. This definitely limited my time as I was going very slow for the first minute or two. I was weaving through people the entire race and at times there was nothing you could do but slow down. This is really expected at this race so it didn't really bother me and it also prevented me from going out to fast as this would have been impossible. What would you do differently?: Start further up in the pack. I started right in front of the 7 minute mile sign and this is exactly what I did. However, I was weaving through people the entire race and I was not being passed at all so I need to move up toward the start. There was even two people that clearly put themselves right at the start and were walking!!! Post race
Warm down: Didn't really have time to do a warm-down run so I just stretched as much as I could and then took an Aleve when I got back to the office. What limited your ability to perform faster: The crowd and my fear of doing something stupid before my first Tri next weekend. Event comments: This is just a really fun event. It is not an event that you do to be really competitive. There are just way too many people. Everyone from our office had a good time. Last updated: 2006-05-23 12:00 AM

Drank a lot of water during the day. Ate a power bar about 90 minutes before the race. Walked to race with our team.
Did a relatively short 6 minute run. Could of been longer but I had captain duties to deal with. On the other hand, it was really humid so I didn't need a really long run to get warmed-up. Stretched for about 10 minutes.
