Event warmup:

Light swim warmup. quick spin on the bike before transition setup
Swim
  • 07m 34s
  • 547 yards
  • 01m 23s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim was nice.Snake start went off well. I just caught the swimmer in front of me at the the very last wall. Could have pushed a little more but why?
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Transition 1
  • 01m 33s
Comments:

Seems like I burned a bit of time messing around with my tri top.
What would you do differently?:

practice with shoes clipped in. Maybe go topless since there was no requirement for shirts on the men.
Bike
  • 49m 32s
  • 16 miles
  • 19.38 mile/hr
Comments:

Seems like the bike is consistently slow for me although I raised my average speed 1MPH since the last sprint.
What would you do differently?:

Ride the course a couple more times prior to race day. Train more on the bike and probably do more speed work.
Transition 2
  • 00m 31s
Comments:

Mount /dismount was chalked on the pavement rather than a sign. I was prepping shoes rolling back into transition (should have been paying attention) and had to jump on the binders for the dismount line.
Run
  • 22m 12s
  • 3.15 miles
  • 07m 03s  min/mile
Comments:

not bad. hilly from 1.75-2.75
What would you do differently?:

Start the kick a little sooner.
Post race
Warm down:

light jog around the park. 2 oranges, 1 gatorade, 1/2 liter water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Bike split/speeds. Need to get my Average up a couple more MPH. Can't keep the RPMs/Speed up on the hills.

Event comments:

Fun race. Very mellow atmosphere. Great people. In the future maybe have all the volunteers in a similar/same shirt/hat. Sometimes tough to see if it was just someone waving to you or a volunteer/marshall directing you to a turn. A couple of the turns on the run course were not that obvious.
