Pre-race routine:

Banana and some OJ then drove up to Williamsburg watching the lightning along the way!
Event warmup:

Hard to warm up. They weren't sure if they were going to have the swim based on the weather. Late start for everything and then cancelled the swim and had us do a 1 mile run to start.

Could not get up to speed as fast as I would have liked, but overall a good ride. Feel like I continue to improve. Want to get my bike split up over 21 mph.

Trouble with my insoles again. I wear replacement arch support insoles and they tend to bunch when I try to slip in wet feet. I have experimented with double sided tape to hold them in. May try something different.

Figure out the insoles. Cost me some time.

I am going to try to get some more miles in each week and add some more speed work.

Warm down:

Got something to drink, talked to friends and decided to head home when they said there was another storm cell headed our way. Crazy weather

What limited your ability to perform faster:

T2 and the shoes.

Glad they were able to get the race in with the weather. Sorry to see they had to cancel the swim, but think it was the right call based on conditions the night before and that morning.

Course: Nice course with the exception of the start out of transition. It goes down an old campground road that is not in the best of shape. Setup does the best the can do with the site layout. Some debris on the roads from the storms, but not too bad.
