Swim
Comments: felt everything went pretty well for me here based on the one day a week training i put in and never in a pool. need to learn how to flip turn, but thats about it. What would you do differently?: nothing really. maybe update my predicted race pace a week or so before the event so i'm not fighting around people in the lanes. Transition 1
Comments: messed with my socks a little longer than i would have liked. What would you do differently?: need to work going sockless into my training more and find a way to fix my shoes to the bike so i don't have to put them on in T1. i know how to slip them on once on the bike... just need to work on how to hold them in position during mounting the bike. Bike
Comments: had a mechanical accident at mile 7. chain fell off the front gears and didn't jump back on after shifting up/down. had to get off the bike and try to get it unstuck from the derailer. managed to cut my had in several places in the process, but got back moving. What would you do differently?: tell my bike about the importance of not breaking. didn't unstrap my shoes to hop off of them at the dismount area either. the aquatic center snuck up on me. Transition 2
Comments: this went very poorly. took about twice as long as my two previous races. i think being almost the furthest point from the bike finish didn't help much. What would you do differently?: do what i planned to do. leave shoes on bike, slip on running shoes, grab number belt and watch and gtfo of T2 Run
Comments: it went, didn't really run the pace i felt my training for the past month showed i was capable of. my heart rate reflected this as well... What would you do differently?: push it. try to not let what happened on the previous leg get to me. the bike breakdown had me pretty bummed as i wasn't how much time i had lost to it. Post race
Warm down: hung around and checked out the vendors. ate a pb&j and soda that was provided. What limited your ability to perform faster: bike malfunction. killed my rhythm and got to me psychologically for the rest of the race. Event comments: Great race, will look to attend next year too. Felt i could have done a little better. Despite the AG win i felt bummed about my overall performance. Last updated: 2012-06-13 12:00 AM
