Swim
Comments: I was very happy with my swim. Had the fastest time of the race and couldn't be happier. This was my first Olympic swim and this first 1500 I have swam in about 20 years. I didn't leave it all in the water like my previous Tri so I was happy with the improvement. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Transition 1
Comments: Transition went good. It was a little crazy with the run up the ramp to the bridge but I was relaxed and it went smoothly. What would you do differently?: Nothing just speed improvement that will come with time and practice. Bike
Comments: Overall the bike felt good but my legs were getting a little dead by the end. More time on the bike and some more distance in training will help that I think. What would you do differently?: Nothing technical just some more training time and distance on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: This transition felt ok but I didn't push the run off the bike enough and took my time with my shoes. What would you do differently?: Push more on the run through transition. Run
Comments: As usual the run was a challenge for me. My plan was to not walk no matter what throughout the run....but at about the 3KM mark I know this was not going to happen. I took a couple walk breaks to pull my heart rate down and give my knees a break. I was surprised my time was under 60 mins with the breaks. What would you do differently?: More run training to push the whole 10K. Post race
Warm down: There was a big walk from the finish to transition so I took my time walking back and just did some light stretching waiting for Transition to open back up. What limited your ability to perform faster: More run training is a must! Event comments: As the inaugural race in downtown Toronto things went pretty well I would say..other than a couple things: 1. The mandatory pre-race briefing needs to go. This was a huge expense for me to drive and park in Toronto just for information I could have read in an email. 2. The signage and marking before and during the race could be improved big time. If they scrap the pre-race briefing I will certainly be back next year. Last updated: 2012-06-17 12:00 AM

Had a 1.5 hr drive to the race so most of my pre-race was spent in the car. Parking took a little longer than anticipated so was a little rushed setting up transition and getting to the swim start.
Did some stretching and jumps to get my heart moving. Was hoping for a warm-up in the water but despite what was communicated in the race briefing there was no time for that.
